I wanted to import PST File to Gmail, but there was one problem — Outlook was not installed on my system. Most free methods depend on Outlook plus IMAP configuration, which makes the migration process more complicated.
Manual Method
I borrowed another system with Outlook and tried the traditional approach.
Steps involved:
- Enabled Gmail IMAP
- Added Gmail in Outlook
- Imported PST file
- Synced emails manually
Limitations of Manual Method
- Requires Outlook installation
- Very slow for large mailboxes
- Risk of skipped emails
- No advanced filters available
- Complicated for beginners

Another useful thing was selective migration. I migrated only important folders instead of the complete mailbox, which saved a lot of time.
If someone only has a few emails, manual methods are manageable. But for complete mailbox transfers, automated solutions are definitely more efficient and stress-free.
