I recently received a Microsoft Outlook PST file from a colleague that appears to be password-protected. The problem is that the password seems obvious or weak (e.g., a simple word or number combination). I am concerned about both security and accessibility because I need to access the emails in this PST file for work. I am not sure what the best approach is in this situation. Should I try to remove or change the PST password within Outlook, or is there a recommended method to handle PST files that have weak or obvious passwords? I also want to make sure that the data inside the file does not get corrupted during the process. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? What are the safest ways to handle or manage a PST file with an obvious password in Outlook?
